Pure wool fabric has a natural and soft color, good insulation effect, and is the primary choice for making high-end suits and coats. There are more and more imitation wool fabrics, and with the improvement of textile technology, they have reached a level that most customers find difficult to distinguish, but their color, warmth, and feel are still far inferior to pure wool fabrics. Below are several methods for identifying pure wool fabrics, for your reference when selecting clothing and fabrics.

1、 Hand feel. Pure wool fabrics usually have a smooth and silky feel, while long wool fabrics have a smooth and silky feel when touched along the wool, and a tingling sensation when touched against the wool. Blended or purified fiber products, some are not soft enough, some are too soft and loose, and have a sticky feeling.

2、 Look at the color. The color of pure wool fabric is naturally soft, bright and without any sense of aging. In contrast, blended or purified fiber fabrics may have a darker luster or a shimmering color.

3、 Look at elasticity. Tighten the object with your hands, then immediately release it and check the elasticity of the fabric. Pure wool fabric has a high rebound rate and can quickly recover to its original state, while blended or synthetic products have poor wrinkle resistance, mostly leaving obvious wrinkles or slow recovery.

4、 Identification by combustion method. Take a bundle of yarn and burn it with fire. The scent of pure wool fibers is like burning hair, and the scent of synthetic fabrics is like burning plastic. The harder the particles after combustion, the more chemical fiber components there are.
